Moodle at Coe p1

This here is a comic I made as part of me and Riley's end of our FYS's final group project. I hurriedly scanned it in and posted it on Moodle, like, 17 minutes ago right now (9:12). Let me explain.

This, on the left in the first frame and appearing throughout, is Charlie Kohawk--not to be confused with his father, who happens to be Coe's mascot (hence the gargantuan muscles, which happen to be probably the best I've drawn yet). He's a character that Riley named and made and I designed. In this comic, he shows incoming Freshmeats--er, First Years some of the aggravations of the site known as Moodle (being humorous, of course). Riley wrote the script--I added my own twist to it.

At first, I was considering having him be human, but then I looked at Riley's comment on choosing to name him Charlie (Charlie is a reference to our mascot </redundancy> ) and thought, Hmmmm...Aw, what the heck, why not take it a little literally? Thus, making use of a field I'm more used to, I drew it out and then, since it was late when I started a couple nights ago due to me taking too much time detailing in the rough draft, I hurriedly did this. I used four Pilot pens throughout this comic: Two blacks (one 07, one 05), a mini blue, and a mini red. I also used pencil for effect, as you can see around Charlie Sr. in that first panel up there.

I had a fun time working with this guy, actually, and had fun drawing him acting like an exaggerated normal person (you'll see what I mean by "exaggerated" later). I had fun doing some anime stuff, too; Bleach was the source for the expression in the last panel, reminiscent of Ichigo's angry/disbelief face. If I'd had more skill, I'd 've tried to have shown Charlie's face twitching there, like Ichigo's face when he looks like that. Anyway, don't think this is going to be the last you'll see of Charlie Kohawk; I think I'm going to play with him some more sometimes. (Maybe even his dad, too, especially if I ever carry out my plan to make fun of how anthro school mascots are basically musclefur characters X3)
